Short Essays — answer all 3 questions: No more than 100 words per question. In your opinion, what is the most significant environmental or forestry related issue of our time. Please give a very brief summary of the issue and one possible strategy for resolving it. Which of the following lens do you think is most important to view environmental or forest related issues: biophysical sciences, human dimensions, or policy – or another? Why? At YSE, we are interested in building a community of students who are diverse in every way, i.e. ethnicity, interests, values, and backgrounds. How will you contribute to our diverse population?

Academic letters and/or letters from professional supervisors are preferred. These individuals can evaluate your scholarship, professional activities, leadership skills, and career goals. The submission of the recommendation form and a one- to two-page letter is expected. Letters from family, friends or nonsupervisory colleagues are not acceptable. Letters of recommendation do not need to be received before you will be able to submit your application. However, since programs begin reviewing applications shortly after the respective application deadline, please be sure that your letters of recommendation are submitted promptly.

MESC/MFS Supplemental Statement Required No more than 300 words Write one short paragraph for each advisor you would like to work with describing the interactions you have had with them and why they are a good match to serve as your advisor. Please list faculty in order of preference.

Describe your academic background, educational goals and post-degree professional goals, and how Yale School of the Environment can prepare you to achieve those objectives. Required if applying to all MEM/MF programs, including 5-year program. No more than 650 words

Please include a notation for each job/internship/volunteer position you have held describing whether the position was full or part time. List also original research work, reports, or publications.
