BS in Architecture & Inventive Technologies

Please respond to the questions below to give us a better understanding of why you’ve chosen to study architecture. The admission committee will review these statements and video as a measure of your awareness, determination and vision. Your responses should be no more than 200 words in length for each written question. B.S. IN ARCHITECTURE + INVENTIVE TECHNOLOGIES 1) Given our program’s stated commitment to educating students through the multiple lenses of architecture, technology and entrepreneurship, if you had super power, what architectural product would you create? 2) With its active civic, art, and design cultures, Los Angeles is a city of iconic architecture, landscapes, and the architectural products and components that make them possible. Within this context, students at USC Architecture are given tools to become strong critical thinkers able to evaluate architectural components in many ways, including visually, experientially, and technologically. As you consider joining our school, please describe an architectural product or material that you find personally meaningful. Why and how did your direct experience of its design resonate with you?

All international applicants must provide, at the time of application, financial documentation affirming their ability and intent to finance USC’s full cost of attendance (tuition and expenses) for at least the first academic year. Financial documentation must be verified by a bank and dated within the past year. The Financial Statement of Personal or Family Support includes: 1) A signed Financial Statement of Personal or Family Support form. 2) Proof of sufficient funds

Submit official transcripts of all high school and college coursework completed.

A copy of your current passport.

The portfolio submission should consist of a minimum of 6 and up to 12 digital image files. We are interested in seeing evidence of your creativity and curiosity. Work selected for inclusion should demonstrate the breadth and diversity of your creative interests and need not be limited to architectural work (if included at all).

TOEFL/IELTS/PTE/Duolingo

The video should be no more than 30-60 seconds. Adjust your camera to the horizontal or landscape mode, face, and speak to the camera. Do not share screen and narrate. Please produce a video that presents what you consider to be your favorite project in your portfolio and why. Try to be as informative and concise as possible when you’re speaking about the project but also remember to be yourself. We are looking for students that are passionate with a keen curiosity about architecture and design.
