    All applicants to any graduate program at the University of Maryland complete a Statement of Purpose (1,000 to 2,000 words) in which you describe your past work, your developed interest in your intended field, and any life experiences that have prepared you to pursue a graduate degree at a large, diverse institution. In addition to the Graduate Schoolโ€™s Statement of Purpose, the HCIM program requires a Supplementary Application. For your supplemental application, please select any THREE of the following five questions to answer. Copy the questions you choose into a single document, then answer each one in the space beneath in 150 words or less. Answer each separately, not as a single essay. Upload all three answers as a single document. โ— Find a current job opening that you could see yourself pursuing upon completion of the HCIM degree. What is the job, and how will the HCIM program prepare you for it? โ— Describe a situation when a professional superior assigned you a task that went against your personal code of ethics. How did you handle it? โ— Tell us about a new technology you learned recently for your job or for school. What was your strategy for learning? What happened when you encountered something you didn't know? โ— Describe a piece of design for technology or UX that you find especially influential or inspiring, and why it interests you. โ— Describe a situation where you needed to research a problem, organization, technology, or product for completing a project. How did you go about finding that information? How did you confirm that it was accurate, and how did it influence your project?
