Masters in Computational & Applied Mathematics

The applicant has completed or is expected to complete, a post-secondary degree from an institution in which English is the official language of communication or instruction

Unofficial transcripts should be uploaded directly into the application system at the time the application is submitted. One official transcript from all universities/colleges attended should be sent directly to the department. A transcript is considered official when it is enclosed in a sealed envelope with the official stamp or signature of the institution across the seal when received by the department. Only one copy from each institution attended is required.

Three to four letters of recommendation are required from individuals — preferably professors or research advisors — who are familiar with your work in computational and applied mathematics or other scientific fields.

Describe a time when you faced significant challenges or setbacks in pursuing a goal or completing a project. How did you demonstrate grit and perseverance to overcome these obstacles and achieve success?

A statement of purpose should answer some of these basic questions. Why you want to study at graduate school? Why this degree and this college? Any experience in your field? Experience related to your choice of degree? What will you do with your degree after graduation? You are answering questions more tightly focused on the future. In a statement of purpose, an applicant has the chance to detail their plans for study in a given field along with short- and long-term career goals.
