MS in Finance

An official transcript or degree certificate is a verification of your academic record issued in the original language from the original issuing source (i.e., college, university, technical school, or secondary school). Official transcripts or degree certificates issued in languages other than English must be translated into English and submitted to Portland State along with the original official documents. International transcripts must be submitted in paper form to be considered official. Electronic transcripts will only be accepted from U.S. institutions.

Unofficial transcripts/mark sheets from any institution where a bachelor's degree was awarded and any institution where graduate-level credits were completed. Upon admission, applicants will be required to provide official transcripts from these institutions

Written essays : 250 words maximum per essay question Answers to all four questions are required 1) Introduce yourself and tell us your story. What led you to apply to the MS in Finance program? (video, 1 minute maximum) 2) How have you developed problem-solving strategies in your professional or academic career? What is your process for solving a problem? (written, 250 word maximum) 3) Describe your specific career aspirations and explain how the PSU MS in Finance degree will contribute to those aspirations. (written, 250 maximum) 4) A graduate degree is a large commitment and investment in your future. Please describe what steps you have taken financially, personally and academically to ensure your success in the program. (written, 250 maximum)

Provide financial documentation demonstrating adequate financial support for at least the first year of study

Contact information for two or more references (professional references preferred). Forms will be emailed to these contacts and we must receive at least two submissions before applications are reviewed.

Video essay (1): Applicants are required to record a one-minute video of themselves answering the following question - "Introduce yourself and tell us your story. What led you to apply to this program?" The application system provides detailed guidance on how to complete this process. Reading your response is strongly discouraged. Applicants who experience technical difficulties and are not able to submit a video essay with the application may be required to attend a remote interview with the MSF Academic Director.
