MA/MS in Anthropology

An official transcript or degree certificate is a verification of your academic record issued in the original language from the original issuing source (i.e., college, university, technical school, or secondary school). Official transcripts or degree certificates issued in languages other than English must be translated into English and submitted to Portland State along with the original official documents. International transcripts must be submitted in paper form to be considered official. Electronic transcripts will only be accepted from U.S. institutions.

Copies of transcripts from each college or university attended (other than Portland State)

Provide financial documentation demonstrating adequate financial support for at least the first year of study

Submit contact information for at least three references. Portland State will contact your references and provide them with instructions for submitting recommendation forms.

In 500 words, your statement should summarize your academic background and your main goals in attending graduate school and our program in particular. It should note which track you seek and the faculty with whom you wish to work. Explain why your interests mesh well with our program.

Your writing sample should illustrate your academic skills and interests, and ability to craft a sustained argument supported by scholarly data.
