Foreign credentials refer to transcripts from educational institutions outside the United States. The LSU Graduate School will accept foreign credential evaluations from any current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) with a course-by-course evaluation and grade point average (GPA) included.

A CV or resume with an accurate chronological outline of all previous college-level education. Please Note: A CV/resume is required for all applicants who wish to be considered for an assistantship.

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. institution or the equivalent from a foreign institution

Applicants must submit transcripts from all colleges or universities attended. Unofficial transcripts may be uploaded to the Slate Application Portal for review; however it will be considered unofficial but can be used to process your application for admission. Applicants who qualify for admissions will be admitted on a provisional basis until official transcripts are submitted.

Three letters of recommendation from faculty with whom the prospective student has studied. Applicants must provide the names and contact information for references on the Slate online application. The references should be acquainted with your academic program, scholastic ability or professional performance. Please include a valid email address for each person writing a letter of recommendation.

Please write a statement concerning your proposed program of graduate study. In your statement, you should address such matters as areas of interest, your plans for development, and (for applicants to research master's and doctoral programs) possible thesis or dissertation topics.
